SEVEN NIGHTS PROGRAM “THE JEWISH TOUR IN CUBA”.

Hours Day 1(Friday)
??? Arrive to Havana Airport. Transfer to Hotel Nacional
Welcome Cocktail at Hotel Nacional
Accommodation at Hotel Nacional
??? Friday evening attend services at the Centro Hebreo Sefardi de Cuba. After services, we will have dinner with the Sephardic Community, meet some members of the Cuban Jewish Community
Dinner at Hotel.
Day 2. (Saturday)
Breakfast at Hotel Nacional.
Breakfast will be followed by Shabbat services at Beth Shalom (The Patronato), where you will be able to meet members of the congregation, Hadassah, Youth Group and Dr. Jose Miller, President of the Jewish Cuban Community. We will share lunch with the community
10.00 am 12. 30 pm. Tour in Old Havana Historic areas guided by an architect. Visit to Plaza de Armas, San Francisco Square and Church, Museum of the City (former Governor’s Palace), “La Fuerza” castle (explanation on the defensive system built by the Spaniards and overview of “El Morro” and “La Cabaña” castles), Obispo and Mercaderes Streets.
12.30 pm 2.30 pm Lunch at “El Patio” restaurant, by the cathedral square.

2.30 pm 4.30 pm. Walking tour through Acosta Street, visit the orthodox Adath Israel Synagogue, The Belen Neighborhood where Jewish lived, the Kosher butcher shop and the Temple Avet Chaverim, the oldest Synagogue in Cuba.

Day 3 (Sunday)
8.30 am. Breakfast at Hotel Nacional.
9.00 am-10.00 am
10.00 am- 12. 00 am After breakfast, visit to Hebrew School classes for children and adults at the synagogues in Vedado
Sightseeing tour in Vedado Neighborhood. Main Avenues, Eclectic mansions built in the 20´s (present Museo de Artes Decorativas and Casa de la Amistad, former residences of Condesa de Revilla de Camargo and Mrs. Catalina Lasa respectively) Over view of the main buildings constructed in the 50´s, Havana University and Colón Cemetery (a great piece of sculptural art).
12.00 am 2.00 pm Lunch at El Aljibe restaurant.
2.00 pm 3. 00 pm Visit to the Jewish cemeteries in Guanabacoa. You will see the first Holocaust Memorials' in the Americas erected in 1947
Free time for shopping and explore Havana by your own.
EVE Dinner at Hotel Nacional.

Day 4.
7.00 am. Breakfast at Hotel Nacional.
8.00 am Departure to Cienfuegos
1.00 pm Arriving in Cienfuegos.
1.30 pm 3.30 pm Accommodation at Hotel “Unión”, and lunch at “La Cueva del Camarón”
Walking tour in the historic areas and Punta Gorda, Neoclassical buildings, Terry theater, visit to the “Queen’s Cemetery “ and Jagua Castle.
5.30 pm– 6.30pm. Conversation with the president of Cienfuego’s once thriving Jewish community
to listen to her talk about Jewish life in “Southern Pearl of Cuba”.
EVE
Day 5.
8.30 am. Breakfast at Hotel “Unión”.
9.30 am 11.30 pm Boat ride in the Cienfuegos Bay to enjoy the magnificent view of a natural harbor with endemic birds and flamingos.
12.00pm

1.00 pm Departure to Trinidad City (World Heritage). This is one of the first 7 villages founded by the Spaniards in Cuba.
Arrival in Trinidad, accommodation at Hotel Las Cuevas or Trinidad del Mar.
2.00 pm Lunch in a restaurant placed in the historical colonial town
3.30 am 6.30 am. City tour guided by a local architect form the Conservation Office of the City.
Meet with the director of Archives to learn first hand of the city’s long vanished Jewish community, it’s history
Day 6.
8.30 am. Breakfast at Hotel Las Cuevas.
9.30 am 12.30 pm. Tour in the Sugar Mill’s Valley and Lunch at “La Torre de Iznaga” restaurant in
the Valley. Visit to the ruins of a Jewish’s farm in the Valley.
1.30 pm
Departure to Havana City.
5.30 pm Arrive in La Habana and accommodation at Hotel Nacional.
8.00 pm
EVE Dinner at Hotel restaurant
Day 7.
8.30 am Breakfast at Hotel Nacional.
9.00 am. 12.00 pm Walking tour on “El Prado” Promenade, (designed by French Architect Forrestier” in 19th Century). Visit to the Capitol building (built as a replica of the Washington Capitol), former Chamber of Cuban Congress and now Museum of Natural Sciences.
Afternoon at leisure.
EVE Farewell Dinner at “El Floridita” restaurant, one of the Ernest Hemingway’s favorites.
Day 8.
8.30 am Breakfast at Hotel Nacional.
??????? Transfer to Havana International airport to take the returning flight.

Minimum of passengers required: 10.
