Seven Nights Tour Program. Eastern Cuban Nature.

1st day
Arrive in Havana. Transfer in airport – Hotel.
Accommodation at Hotel Occidental Miramar.   Welcome cocktail.

2nd day
Breakfast.
Visit and  lecture at “Fundación El Hombre y a la Naturaleza” . Topic: Cuban nature and cultural heritage. World Heritage sites in Cuba.  
Visit to the Great Metropolitan Park, explanations on the Rehabilitation Projects. 
Lunch at restaurant “La Pérgola” located in the Havana Forrest areas.
Departure to Trinidad, a colonial town built by the Spaniards near 5 centuries ago, surrounded by the Escambray mountains to the North and close to the Ancon beach in the South. 
Accommodation in bungalows at Hotel Costa Sur,  in “Ancón” Beach.

3rd day
Breakfast.
Walking tour in the Historic Centre of Trinidad.
Lunch at the ancient farm and Sugar Mill Manacas- Iznaga, located in the Valley of Sugar Mills.
Visit to the valley, also declared by UNESCO  as World Heritage site..
Free time in the afternoon to enjoy the quite and beautiful beach of Ancon.
 

4th day
Breakfast
Mountain Excursion  to Topes  de  Collantes, one of the highest points in the Cordillera del Escambray. Magnificent and outstanding landscapes, exuberant flora and fauna, trekking, caves, water falls, rivers and lagoons will be appreciated.     
Typical lunch in a farm. Optional bath in the rivers and water falls, as well as horseback rides.
Return to Trinidad.

5th día.
Breakfast  
Departure to Santiago de  Cuba, the most Caribbean city of Cuba surrounded by mountains.
Lunch in Camaguey city, one of the first seven villages founded by the Spaniards in Cuba. Visit the historic centre,  Plaza de San Juan de Dios.
On the way to Santiago, brief stops at some local faros to see sugar or banana plantations.
Arrival in Santiago. Accommodation at Hotel Casa Granda  in the historic centre.   

6th day.
Breakfast 
Tour in the historical center.
Visit to “El Morro” castle, placed on the cliff on top of the Harbor entrance where the important naval battle took place in 1898, between Spanish and American fleets during the Spanish-Cuban-American war next to the castle

Boat ride through the Santiago Harbour, disembarking in Granma Key in the middle of the bay. Lunch in the key restaurant and explanation of the Rehabilitation project.

Visit to “La Caridad del Cobre” church. This is the Patron Saint of Cuba since the colonial times, and thousands of devotes have left their belonging to her as a symbol of devotion and love.  The church is located in a nature spot,  surrounded by mountains and near the cooper mines ( open sky  mine ).

Return to the hotel.

7th day
Breakfast at Hotel
Excursion by Bus  to the mountains, visit to an old French – Haitian farms and Coffee Plantation.  Typical Coffee drink. This used to be a settlement of French colons, who fled from Haiti in the 18th Century running away from the fighting which took place in this Island during the Haitian Revolution. These colons were the pioneers planting the coffee trees in Cuba as well as its production and consuming culture.
Lunch at “La Gran Piedra restaurant in the mountains
Visit to the ruins of La Siberia coffee farm and plantation. Appreciation of a unique and exotic garden with several species of local flora.
In the evening , flight to Havana city.
Arrival in Havana and accommodation at Hotel Occidental Miramar. 

8th day
Breakfast
Guided visit to the National Museum of Natural History.
Free time to enjoy swimming pools and other hotel facilities.
Lunch at hotel restaurant and late check out.
Transfer Out  to the Havana airport to take the returning  flight.
