This is a basic tour we offer to our clients, but we can do much more than this.

Cuban history, architecture, religion and traditional cigar manufacturing process are among the most important topics comprised in this tour, designed for those who want to have a general overview of the Island and its must representative aspects. In only one week, you can have an insight of Cuban religious diversity and mixture, beginning with Catholicism introduced by the Spaniards and the further incorporation of African cults brought with the African slaves as well as other components.

Starting in Havana, the group will have the chance to explore Old Havana, guided by specialists. While visiting La Fuerza Castle and other fortresses, they will have an overview of the Colonial Caribbean defensive system. In addition, they will enjoy walking in the oldest streets, squares as well as admiring their old mansions and churches.

The Partagás Cigar Factory - where the world-known "Habanos" are produced- will be also visited. The day will end with a tour on the formerly elegant Prado Promenade, where attractive historic hotels, theaters and other social facilities have been rehabilitated or are under current restoration. Finally, entering the Capitol, will become an unforgettable architectural experience.

A sightseeing tour on El Vedado neighborhood will allow the appreciation of Havana's expansion to the West since the 19th century and all along the 20th.

Its main avenues and Neoclassical or Early 20th Century Eclectic mansions, the monumentality of Havana University and the emblematic Colón Cemetery as well as some quite interesting Art Deco and Modern manifestations from the thirties, forties and fifties will undoubtedly offer an extremely enjoyable journey. The day will end with a lecture on National Identity, given by a Cuban Historian.

The Cuban religious diversity will be extensively focused in a conference on the last day in Havana, giving participants an overview of how Catholicism was introduced in the country with the colonization process, the extermination of Cuban natives and how the African cults and deities were later incorporated when the Spaniards brought Africans as slaves. Other components as the Protestant, Chinese and Jewish religious practices will be also approached. The conference will be complemented with a visit to the home of the Babalao of Guanabacoa (Santería priest) as well as to the San Lazaro Chapel.

Besides Havana, the group will visit Cienfuegos, a town founded in the 19th century by Frenchmen on Jagua Bay. On the way a stop will be made at Bay of Pigs where participants will have vivid remembrances of the battle held between National Militias and the Invading Brigade armed by US CIA in 1961.

In Cienfuegos, the group will make a panoramic tour of the historic areas in town and their Neoclassical and Eclectic architecture. They will visit the beautiful Terry Theater and Central Park. At the very end of the day, the group will be accommodated in Trinidad, one of the first Spanish 16th century villages founded between the sea and the mountains.

Trinidad was declared a UNESCO World Heritage Site together with its nearby Valley of the Sugar Mills in 1988.

The visit to the Colonial village will be guided by a local architect who will make emphasis on the oldest colonial areas which date from 16th century to 19th centuries. Next day, the Manacas-Iznaga Plantation House and Tower, on the Valley, will allow them to appreciate the remnants of 19th century sugar production.

The last day in Varadero, the most famous of Cuban beaches, will be the time to enjoy the beauty of the Caribbean waters and rest for a while, after the intense journeys you will have had. A farewell meal (lunch or dinner depending on returning flight schedule) will take place at Las Américas Restaurant" - a splendorous Neo Colonial house from the 20 ´s built by the sea shore for the American millionaire Irenee Dupont. From Varadero, the group will take the bus to go directly to Havana International Airport and will take returning flight.
